Lindsay Wakefield
Regional Director
Lindsay started his career at Rolls-Royce Aero Engines as a Commercial Graduate Trainee.
He later joined Mars Confectionery, working as a Key Account Salesman within the Independent Sector. This was followed by a move into the Sales Training Department where Lindsay developed and delivered training programmes for Field Salespeople, National Account Managers and Regional Sales Managers.
In 1994 Lindsay joined L’Oreal UK as a National Account Manager with responsibility for Asda and Sainsbury. During this time he developed and executed a range of category leading Point of Purchase initiatives which resulted in improved ranging and results for L’Oreal within these key accounts.
During 1996 Lindsay moved to International Distillers and Vintners (IDV) as a Regional Sales Manager responsible for the Key London area. Following IDV’s merger with United Distillers (to form Diageo), Lindsay was appointed On Premise National Account Manager with responsibility for Diageo’s largest On Premise customer in the UK, Bass PLC.
Lindsay joined Glendinning in 1999 as a Senior Training Consultant bringing a broad range of knowledge and experience with particular emphasis onSales Capability Development and Customer Management. He later became a Director of Consulting, developing a reputation for excellence in Customer Management Capability Development for a diverse range of local and international clients. He was specifically responsible for Heineken International, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, Kellogg’s, Nestle Rowntree, Red Bull and the global BP Sales Academy.
In 2006 Lindsay left the business to work overseas as General Manager (Sales) for MMI, a Dubai based liquor distributor. During his time in Dubai he further recognised the need for Demand Management development within the region and subsequently set up, with Simon Morris, Glendinning Middle East. He now heads up the business development effort across the Middle East for Glendinning Management Consultants as Executive Director.
